Our Red Deer Rage U9 Grassroots program is designed to introduce girls to the sport of fastball in a fun learning environment. Practices are on Mondays around 5:30 p.m. & games are played on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm at the Bower diamonds. There is no travel involved at this level. Games are played against other Grassroots teams and the number of teams is based on new registration each year. In the past there has typically been anywhere from 4-6 teams. Please see the rules for more information on this program. We do host a fun Grassroots tournament & bbq in early June each year with all of our Grassroots teams.
Equipment required for our grassroots program will be a glove, an infield mask, and cleats/runners. Each team will be provided with an equipment bag that will have throw bags, a tee, catching equipment, and a couple of bats and helmets to share. Having your own bat or helmet is great but is optional. All players will receive a shirt each year in their team color. And any new athletes to Rage will receive a Rage hat and a pair of blue socks.
*Note: Registration for this program for the 2026 Spring Season will be approximately $100. To register within the month of February go to the Registration tab at the top of our website and select 'Register Now'. When registering in RAMP you will have to create an account if you don't already have one. You will need to choose the U9 age category to register for this Grassroots program.
